The Ghost of Whispering Willow has arrived!
We
have a tagline here at Rising Phoenix Press. It’s simple, we all believe in it,
and hope to share it with others. Creative Expression. Reborn. Today
was a good day; a day that we celebrated together. We started this co-op
knowing that once we put it into motion, there was absolutely no turning back.
We’ve been working, ninety-to-nothing, since the idea of Rising Phoenix Press was
created. Today we released The Ghost of Whispering Willow under our new label. It’s
an important piece, there’s a story behind the story, and the first piece that we
truly put together from start to finish: writer, artist, layout, and we did it!
Beautifully I might add, or at least I hope so.
We have learned so much over the years. From writers and
illustrators, turned authors. We’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly side
of the industry, and somewhere in the middle we lost sight of why we love to do
what we do. Write, create, and share with the people that can do it better than
us, the children. It’s time to
get back to the good stuff! So that said, today we take a minute and celebrate. Tomorrow we work harder than we did today. I can honestly say at
Rising Phoenix Press, as in the lyrics made so famous by Frank Sinatra, “We did
it OUR way!”

After seeing a ghost out of the corner of his eye, Stewart and his friend, Andy, begin the investigation of a lifetime. The boys come face-to-face with a ghost! Along the way, they are forced to join forces with Krista, Ally, Kendall, and Maggie, who have also encountered ghosts. The kids soon find that the ghost they encountered isn't alone and is in imminent danger. He desperately needs the children's help. Can the kids devise a plan to help the ghost in time? Will they be able to reunite a ghost with his lost family? Complete with a ghost village and a feud, this story takes on a life of its own.
